The Independents Schedules

Independents are a thing of the past, only Notre Dame, Navy and Army are left. Temple is a probationary member of the Mid-American Conference this year, and will be a full fledged member in 2007. Besides Notre Dame, what other school could survive as an independent and still be a national title contender? Until the BCS mandates conference membership as a requirement to play in the national championship, Notre Dame has no reason to join a conference. Army left Conference USA last year in order to have more freedom in scheduling. Navy has never been a member of a conference, but has had great success the last 3 years under head coach Paul Johnson. Will Navy make it to their 4th straight bowl game? Will Notre Dame run the table? This is just a knee-jerk prediction on how the Indys will finish? As stated before, these predictions will change after Spring and again before Fall. (red= predicted loss)
